Add your domain to Google Search Console to make sure that users can find your website using Google Search.
Adding your domain to Google Search Google
- Go to Google Search Console and log in to your Google Account;
- If you have used Google Search Console before, click on the domain dropdown menu in the top-left corner and select "Add property";
- Enter your domain name in "Domain" option (example: example.com);
- Click "Continue";
- When prompted to verify domain ownership via DNS record, add a TXT record to your domain by following our "How to add/change DNS records for your domain?";
- After adding the TXT record to your domain, click "Verify";
- If everything is done correctly, you should receive a message "Ownership verified".
Adding your domain's sitemap to Google Search Google
- Once you have added the domain, go to "Sitemaps" page in Google Search Console;
- In the "Add a new sitemap" section, add "sitemap.xml" to your domain and click "Submit" (example: https://example.com/sitemap.xml).
Once you have completed all steps, the domain and its sitemap are added to the Google Search Console. Depending on the website size, it may take a while before the domain becomes visible in Google Search.
