To start a new WordPress (WP) website, you need to install a new instance of WordPress. You can do this in a few clicks.
To start:
- Log into MyHost and under My Services open the Web Hosting that you want to work with.
- In the left-hand menu, under Actions, click Log in to cPanel.
- In cPanel’s left-hand menu, open WP Toolkit.
- In your WP Toolkit, click the Install button. This will open a new pane where you can set options for the installation.
You can leave all the default setting in place and just click Install, or change settings first.
General settings:
- Installation path is the address where people will find your site’s homepage.
- Website title will appear in your website header and elsewhere. You can edit this later.
- Plugin/theme set lets you choose from some of the lost popular WordPress plug-ins. You can always change your plug-ins later.
- Website language can also be changed later.
- Version refers to the version of WordPress that will be installed. Unless you have a very good reason not to, select the number marked as “current”
WordPress Administrator settings:
This is will be the first account that can log into your new WordPress installation. The Username and Password will be saved in your cPanel, so you won’t need to remember them.
Check the Email address, especially if you are not going to be the site admin.
Other settings:
The sections for Database and Automatic Update Settings will already have defaults in place. In most cases you won’t need to edit these. Automatic update settings can be changed later.
