Transferring your domain to MyHost
To transfer your domain, follow the steps below:
- If you already have a MyHost account, Login. (If you're new to MyHost, you will need to create an account as part of the transfer process.)
- Open Domains > Transfer Domains to Us from the main menu.
- Enter your domain and EPP/Auth code and click Add to Cart.
This will take you to the Domains configuration page, where you can:
- Add a Web Hosting or Email Hosting package.
- Add ID protection which will hide your contact information on a WHOIS search.
- Configure the nameservers that will be used once the domain is transferred. The default MyHost nameservers are shown by default, but you can add yours instead. (When using MyHost nameservers, ensure that you have a DNS zone set up with us prior to the transfer to avoid downtime.)
Once you're finished, complete the checkout process and the domain transfer will begin. We’ll let you know as soon as your domain transfer is complete, which might take a few minutes (.nz domains) or a few days - How long does it take to transfer my domain over?
Transferring is free, but you might need to renew your domain
Domain transfers are free but, in the cases listed below, the domain will need to be renewed upon transfer:
- International domain transfers
- NZ domains with less than 30 days until expiry
Your renewal will be added on after your domain's current expiry date.
